Event Details

Chicago women made Illinois the first state east of the Mississippi to grant limited voting rights to women in 1913. Their success greatly influenced the tactics and achievements of suffragists in other states and helped make Illinois the first state in the nation to ratify the 19th Amendment. Laurie Russell highlights the pivotal role of Chicago women with vintage photographs and quotes.  Registration required. If you need to attend via Zoom, the invitation will be sent with the reminder email.
